Subscriptions in December 2024

Last year, I published the post Subscriptions in December 2023 with a snapshot of the subscriptions I had at that time. While I maintain an always-updated list of all the Subscriptions I have on this blog, I thought it would be interesting to post the snapshot as well, allowing me to compare it with the list from December 2024.

So, what changed during the year?

Nothing has changed for Streaming. However, I did subscribe to Netflix for a month or two to watch some TV shows I had my eye on but canceled it shortly afterward.

Podcasts saw some changes. I canceled my subscriptions to Dithering and Under the Radar, and I subscribed to 99% Invisible now that it's possible. Since 99% Invisible is part of the SiriusXM Podcasts channel, I also get access to all their other podcasts.

For Services, I added Kagi to my list of must-haves.

Blogging underwent a more significant change. After many years, I canceled my Micro.blog subscription and replaced it with a lifetime Bear Blog account.

My Reading workflow also changed. I replaced Instapaper with GoodLinks. I've been a fan of GoodLinks and was waiting for them to add highlighting support, which they finally did. Instapaper had become too expensive for my needs, and GoodLinks now has everything I need.

In the Fun to Have category, I canceled ChatGPT, which I used to create images for Epic Tales Tavern. Since I'm no longer maintaining that project, I canceled the subscription.

Lastly, I subscribed to Sequel to keep track of the TV shows I watch and the games I play.
